Hello, still here, just about. Been busy updating Chav Mum for Shazza. I've done the blog bit for her but still need to work on the rest of the site. Its keeping me out of mischief if nothing else.
On another note - just admiring some of this artist's work. I can see a lot of what I'd like to do in my work in there, especially in the nature paintings. The one on the left is my favourite, its called The Tornado Men. There are lots of great paintings in this exhibition of his work. This one is also superb, as is this.
I really like it, but its just reminded me of the unfinished canvases I have in my shed - To be honest, I can't see me getting back to them anytime soon as I'm four sheets to the wind on the web stuff for the foreseeable future. I can live vicariously through Mark's work in the time being.

Wow, I love the nature ones too. In a way it kind of bums me out because I've been doing some rough drafts of natural disaster inspired paintings...thinking of doing a series on them. I wish I hadn't seen his work because I don't want to be too influenced by it, or feel that I can't do something cuz he already has. Like I had this whole set based on tornados (which I grew up terrified of because I live in tornado alley) and Mammatus clouds (do an image search in good for clouds nebraska).
Oh well, I guess I gotta do what I gotta do, and if people see it as derivitive then so be it.
Wow- the Mad Tea Party is awesome and frightening. He's really captured the essence of...evilness...that these people exude (to those of us with working brains). I also love that Condi is a white woman with a black mask. He does nice work-- thanks for the heads-up.
I like the 'Holy War' painting- thanks for pointing these out Dio. I know what you mean about feeling work is derivative Elise. I just looked at his 'seascape with clown heads' and it instantly hit home that it's very similar to a piece I'm working on in sculpture. (If a painting and sculpture can be the same?). Anyway the meaning seems similar to me. Except my little carved faces are looking out from a sea of pebbles not sea (one of my faces looks a bit like the one second from the right! and I haven't seen the painting before). Once it's finished I'll try to put a photo on the site, but now I'm feeling the same as Elise - bummer.
Hey RR, I'm looking forward to seeing your piece. And I really believe that anything you do will be unique, even if it is a similar theme or style, it's still you doing the work and with all the millions of paintings out there, there's bound to be some inadvertent cross over.
Dirty Dio Bach,
Nice to see another Welshman enjoying Mark's Work. I'm from Barry originally, but now live in California. Mark is a neighbour of mine, and I made a short movie of his work, with some original music from Garry Eisner. Please go and take a look! BTW, we are hoping for lots of del.icio.us bookmarks, so feel free to bookmark the movie page itself.

Hi Russ, thanks for the link - I've been having a bit of a pain trying to get the latest version of Quicktime on my PC, so I've not been able to see it. But i will delicious it. :)
