Amazingly beautiful and eerily surreal sea forts on stilts, rusting away off the Kent coast. Used as a Pirate Radio station in the 60s, you can see more pictures of them fairly intact here.
They almost look like some kind of Victorian walking alien thing out of War Of The Worlds or some similar steam engine powered war machine. I'd love to go see them myself, but it sounds like they won't be around much longer. A real shame, maybe they should be listed or something.

This is fascinating-- I had no idea these things existed. The Red Sands Rendevous/Seatribe site linked at the bottom of your link is really interesting, too. What a perfect place to hole up with friends and play music and do illicit stuff. I hope they keep at least one of the two remaining forts standing.
I *llllllllooooooooovvvvvvvvvveeeeee* those things! Too freaking cool, they look like something straight of of Hiro Miyazaki's "Howl's Moving Castle"...If I lived anywhere near them I think I'd become obsessed!
