I wish you would have tagged Holly instead! I'm a newbie I dont think I know 4 other bloggers to tag!
Wait, Chav mum sounds interesting! :D
I can't believe raw carrots and cauliflower are on your list of 4 fav dishes...wild man.
Well, I'm off to compile my list...first thing in the morning.
(btw, I love all of your top 4 movies...I even watched "Local Hero" over and over again when I was in... probably Jr. high school. Do you know where was that filmed?)
btw, by the "original" version of Bladerunner, do you mean the director's cut or the one with the voice over and the happy ending?
Elise - Blade Runner - I mean the original release with the voice over. Its the version I grew up with and must have seen 50+ times.
I'd not seen it till since the 80s, but I snagged a nice widescreen bootleg DVD made from the Laserdisc which not only was the original version, but featured a few extra seconds of eye ball popping violence. It was like an old friend had been restored to health and returned to me.
The Directors cut always felt lacking for me, but bizarrely, before I even knew about the original shorter ending, I would stop the tape before the happy ending as it felt more natural.
Local Hero, funnily enough was filmed in two locations. The one - the village was on the east coast of Scotland whilst the beach was on the east, many miles apart from each other. :)
I could eat raw carrots and cauli till the cows come home. In fact I have it in my lunch most days.
Greg, don't worry, don't feel obliged about the Meme's being tagged only means what you want it too. Its little better than a chain letter and I won't feel offended if you don't do it!
I did it and soon hope I'll be receiving envelopes in the post filled with $5 bills!
Where in Cape Cod did you holiday? I take care of the old family summer cottage there. Flying out in June to open it for rentals. Pop over and visit!
Is that the original Day of the Dead or the remake?
Pennan http://www.undiscoveredscotland.co.uk/pennan/pennan/ is the name of the village local hero was filmed in on the east coast.
You know Dio, I grew up with the voice over version of Bladerunner and loved it, cuz it gave it a kind of cheesey film noir...private dickness to it, ya know? But then the director's cut was released and suddenly it became impossible to find the original version (when you say "eyeball popping" violence are you being literal?)
I am very jealous of your bootleg DVD!!!
Also, thanks for the info about where Local Hero was filmed. As a youngin in the landlocked state of Nebraska growing up I remember thinking that was the kind of place I wanted to live someday, and strangely enough, it kindof is!
Yeah - eye popping - the scene were Roy Batty kills Tyrell. There's also some nasty nostril damage done to Deckard by Pris missing in the original version I knew.
Apparently the extra violence was in a version called the International version aimed at Japan and such countries where they like their violence.
We had the US theatrical version. Which was the international version minus the couple of cuts. I really enjoyed seeing that version again over the directors.
Local Hero, I meant to say - Pennan is on the east coast but the beach is on the west coast. Not both on the east. D'uh... More on the locations here and I still want to live somewhere like that. :)
