Castell Coch November 2017

Towards the end of last month, we started the long haul to Christmas with a trip to Castell Coch, the iconic fairytale castle in Tongwynlais that looks down on Cardiff. We went so as Emi could make a Victorian styled Pomander decoration, as they had a workshop there where you could drop in and make one. We’ve been to Castell Coch several times in the past, it’s a great venue to explore or go for a walk in the woods on the hillside around there.

This time of year the trees are quite stark, shorn of their leaves. There’s plenty of panoramic views for the photographer, either up the valley towards and down to Cardiff and the North Somerset coast beyond it, across the River Severn. The light wasn’t great on the day, and we didn’t have a lot of time there as we got out late, but here’s a few shots from the day, both from inside Castell Coch and from our walk up in the woods around there.
